We are looking to hire a team of motivated and experienced practising physicians with a background in evaluation/assessment and a demonstrated commitment to life-long learning.

As a Peer Assessor, youwill conduct onsite and remote assessments of members’ practices as prescribed by the Quality Assurance regulation on behalf of the Quality Department. The Peer Assessor will use requirements set out in CPSO policies, e.g., Medical Records Documentation, Medical Records Management, etc., relevant clinical practice guidelines, evidence-based best practices, as well as their own clinical experience and judgement, to assess members’ practices.

As part of the assessment process, you will review members’ practice information, schedule assessments, review patient charts, interview members and prepare written reports, utilizing a standardized template that provides an opinion on members’ standard of practice, as well as make recommendations for practice improvement. Your reports will be used by the Quality Assurance Committee to render decisions. You will also work closely with CPSO staff who support the program area and CPSO Medical Advisors to obtain advice on assessments.

You will be available to conduct assessments (number will vary according to practice specialty), participate in monthly Peer Assessor meetings and attend two full-day training sessions per year. CPSO offers great flexibility and, as a Peer Assessor, you will largely manage/direct your own assessment schedule. In addition, your work qualifies you to earn CPD credits.
