The College is pleased to welcome Dr. Roy Kirkpatrick to Council as the academic representative from Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM). 

Dr. Kirkpatrick is a general surgeon and Chair of the Division of Surgery at NOSM. He has practised general surgery in Huntsville for 33 years. He is on staff at Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare, and came to Muskoka after a two-year stint in Papua New Guinea, where he and his wife volunteered with Cuso International. He is known for his contributions to health care outside of Muskoka as a volunteer aid worker with the Canadian Red Cross Emergency Response Team, which took him to Haiti in 2010. He has been affiliated with Médecins Sans Frontières and completed a trip to Pakistan in the spring of 2015. Dr. Kirkpatrick  does regular locums in Moose Factory.  He also sits on the Council of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. 

Dr. Kirkpatrick replaces Dr. Robert Smith as NOSM’s academic representative. 

New Public Member to Council

Mr. Rob Payne

Mr. Rob Payne

The College is pleased to welcome Mr. Rob Payne to Council as a public member.

Mr. Payne, who lives in King City, is currently a Financial Advisor at Edward Jones. Previously, he worked at Nestle, overseeing all consumer relationship management, new technology applications and platforms, digital and social media engagement, and call centre management. He was also a municipal councillor in King City and chaired the Finance Committee as part of his role. 

Mr. Payne is a graduate of the Canadian Securities Institute. He had earlier received a Masters in Public Administration from Western.
