CPSO’s Board Welcomes Three New Members to the Table

Markus de Domenico

Mr. Markus de Domenico of Etobicoke is a new public member. Mr. de Domenico is a composer, a professional recording artist and has been active in producing children’s television programming.  

He has served at the College of Chiropractors of Ontario as the Chair of Inquiries and Complaints, Chair of Registration, a member of the Discipline Committee and Treasurer.    

Mr. de Domenico currently serves as Ward 2 Etobicoke Centre Trustee at the Toronto Catholic District School Board and is a board member of the Angel Foundation for Learning.


Dr. Katina Tzanetos

Dr. Katina Tzanetos is the new academic representative from the University of Toronto.

Dr. Tzanetos graduated from the MD program at McMaster University and obtained a Master of Health Science in Community Health and Epidemiology from the University of Toronto. She is an Associate Professor at the Temerty Faculty of Medicine and is a general internist at St. Michael’s Hospital.

Currently, Dr. Tzanetos is the Director of Post-Graduate Medicine at St. Michael’s Hospital and leads a fellowship training program in Hospital Medicine at Unity Health Toronto. At the undergraduate level, she acts as the Associate Director of Student Assessment for the Temerty Faculty of Medicine.

Her dedication to teaching has been recognized by multiple awards, including the Medical Alumni Association E. Mary Hollington Teaching Award.


Dr. Mitchell Whyne

Earlier this year, an election was held in Districts 5. Dr. Anne Walsh of Newmarket was returned to the Board and Dr. Mitchell Whyne of Barrie became a new member of the Board.    

Dr. Whyne graduated from the University of Toronto’s medical school and received his independent practice certificate in 1984. He has practised in the Simcoe area as an emergency physician for all of his career, including serving as Chief of the Emergency Department and President of Medical Staff at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre. Dr. Whyne also has privileges at the Haliburton Highlands Health Services, Minden Hospital Site.   

For more than 20 years, Dr. Whyne has had a practice in addiction and pain medicine.
