BOARD CHAIR

On behalf of the Board of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, I am pleased to extend my congratulations to the physicians and physician assistant elected in the 2026 Board of Directors Election: Fuad Alnaji, Camille Lemieux, Carys Massarella, Robin Joshua Noyce, Deborah Robertson, and Barbara Zelek.

Together, these Directors bring a broad range of professional experience, perspectives, and skills that will strengthen the Board’s work in support of CPSO’s mandate to serve in the public interest. This year’s election also includes the first physician assistant elected to the CPSO Board of Directors since CPSO began regulating physician assistants in 2025. Read more about the newly elected Directors.

I would like to sincerely thank all candidates who put their name forward. Standing for election reflects a meaningful commitment of time and effort, and the willingness of registrants to serve is essential to strong profession-led regulation.

I also thank everyone who cast a ballot. Engagement in the election process strengthens CPSO’s governance and supports public confidence in our regulatory role.

The newly elected Directors will formally begin their terms following the Annual Organizational Meeting in late November. I look forward to welcoming them to the Board and to seeing their leadership and perspectives guide CPSO’s work in the years ahead.

Patrick Safieh
