Ontario physicians have a unique opportunity to guide and inspire the next generation of medical professionals by joining the 2026 Ontario Medical Students Association (OMSA) Mentorship Program. This exciting initiative connects physicians with medical students based on shared clinical interests, professional trajectories, and personal values. By becoming a mentor, physicians can offer invaluable advice and support in a one-on-one setting, enriching a student’s professional development as they move into a medical career.
Participating in this program is a meaningful way for physicians to give back and reflect on their own careers. With nearly 400 students registered and around 150 physicians already participating, the 2026 OMSA Mentorship Program is growing rapidly — but can still benefit from your participation!
Mentorship is flexible and tailored to each mentor-mentee relationship. The program typically lasts six months, with a recommendation to meet at least once a month. Meetings can be as brief as 15 minutes, depending on schedules. Initial contact will be coordinated by the OMSA Mentorship Program Committee via email, and the Committee will be available to provide support throughout the program.
Matching will take place through spring and early summer — sign up today to make a lasting difference!
